Framed Vindula Erota (Common Cruiser)

The Common Cruiser (Vindula erota) is a striking nymphalid butterfly native to forested regions across tropical South Asia and Southeast Asia. Males display brilliant orange wings adorned with intricate black zigzag lines, wavy patterns, and eye-like spots, giving them a bold, eye-catching appearance as they cruise swiftly along forest edges and roads with their characteristic soaring flight. Females are larger and more subdued, featuring grayish-brown wings crossed by a prominent white band. This sexually dimorphic species often shows seasonal variations in color intensity and markings.
