Ethics is in Everything We Do
Every Fenix Obscura piece begins with a butterfly raised on an ethical farm and collected only after it dies naturally, helping support global butterfly populations and protect their habitats. Inspired by soft yet spooky beauty, I give nature’s fleeting wonders a respectful second life by carefully hand-pinning each wing and framing them to last forever as art. I work solely with approved breeders and conservation-focused farms that create local jobs and help save rainforests. No butterfly is ever harmed for my art, your purchase directly supports the wild places they need to thrive, honoring and preserving nature’s delicate beauty for generations.
Meet Fenix
Hi, I’m Fenix
I’m the artist behind Fenix Obscura! I pin and frame real butterflies into one-of-a-kind pieces.
I’ve always been drawn to things that are a little delicate and a little haunting, and butterflies are exactly that. The more I worked with them, the more I fell in love with the idea of taking something so fragile and preserving it in a way that lets it last.
Every piece you see is pinned and arranged by hand, and I spend a lot of time making sure each one feels intentional. From the placement of the wings to the frame and background it ends up in.
All of my specimens are ethically sourced and never harmed for the purpose of art, which is something really important to me.
I think of these as more than just displays, they’re little pieces of nature turned into something you can keep. I love knowing that I can repurpose such a short lived beauty and give it a long lasting second life!
Thank you for being here and supporting what I do!
